Tilapia is one of our favorite dinner items. The problem is that it can get….same-y. Who wants to have the same meal night after night? No matter how delicious, it gets old fast. Coming up with new ways to dress the tilapia was becoming a chore. But we soldiered on and came up with this parmesan crusted tilapia.
If you’re wanting something easy, this hits the mark! It’s not much more work than just slapping fish onto a baking sheet and rubbing it with oils and seasonings. And it’s so good! The Parmesan gives it this wonderful savory flavor.
Since it’s totally coated in cheese, there’s a chance your kids will like it.ย But if not, I’ll come over and finish their plates for them. ๐
Parmesan Crusted Tilapia
- 2 tsps paprika
- 1 tbsp parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
- olive oil
- 4 tilapia filets
Step 01: Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF. In a bowl, mix the Parmesan, paprika, and parsley.
Step 02: Lightly rub both sides of your fish with olive oil and then rub both sides with the cheese mixture until fully covered. Place fish on a prepared baking sheet.
Step 03: Bake for about 15 minutes.
This goes great with vegetable tian and garlic roasted potatoes.
I would just recommend not putting this in the broiler because it catches fire too easily. As the somewhat blackened edges on my own filetย should indicate. ๐
But I LOVE this version of the tilapia. I don’t think it would be possible to get sick of it. I guess we can find out, though. ๐
What’s your favorite way to do fish? Let me know in the comments!

Yum!
Wow! I just read your post about your 2015 photography goals. I clicked through some of your other food photos and I must say, this post is AMAZING! You’ve definitely improved and you’re my new inspiration
Thank you so much! Stopping by from #TheWeekendSocial
I’m glad you got something out of that post! I think it’s important to look back on old posts and figure out what could have been improved–it’s the only way we get better (well…that and a lot of hard work ๐ ). Thanks so much for the kind words. ๐
How much parmesan please?
Whoops! About 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan. Sorry, Naterlee, I edited the post to fix one thing and caused more in the process. ๐
We enjoy tilapia in fish tacos if you need another way of cooking it. ๐
I LOVE tilapia in fish tacos! But now you have me wondering how it would taste if I did the parmesan crust first. ๐
That sounds delicious! Pinned.
Thank you!
Chelsey, this sounds so good. Looks like dinner tonight.๐
